FAQs

Why wrap a Cybertruck?

While the Cybertruck doesn't have paint and coating like traditional cars, the stainless steel structure ages and gets damaged over time. You will notice spotty discoloration, rust spots, lots of micro abrasions and in some cases - chips. Wrapping your Cybertruck provides the protection of the body that will assure that the value of your Cybertruck doesn't depreciate because of outside wear & tear. Furthermore it provides an opportunity to change the color to anything that you'd like.

Is this PPF (wet install) or Vinyl (dry install)?

We only make & sell the Cybertruck wrap in PPF - wet install.

What's the difference between PPF and Vinyl wrap?

PPF stands for Paint Protection Film. This is much thicker than vinyl and has additional qualities that make it last much longer. For instance, PPF can withstand most rocks hitting your Cybertruck, while vinyl will rip on the first small rock that hits you. Furthermore, our PPF is self-healing when exposed to heat, which means that some minor scuffs that happen through regular wear & tear will disappear on their own within days.

Does it wrap around the edges?

Yes, it does! Our wrap is designed to wrap around the edges in a way that's easy for a DIYer to handle. More specifically we've created pressure relief cuts that eliminate the need of stretching and reduce the need of using a heat gun to almost 0. Furthermore, we made it wrap about 0.5" into the edge (as opposed to the usual 0.15") as we found out through numerous tests that this allows for easier, faster and more reliable edge wrapping.

Can I get replacement pieces if I mess up something?

Yes, our goal is to help you wrap your Cybertruck. That means that if you mess up something, we're here to support you and send you a new piece. Please have in mind that while we have leftover material from each roll, which is enough for every single panel, if you mess up more than one panel it's possible that we may need to order a new roll and that will cost extra. If all that you messed up fits on the leftover material we will do it for free and you just cover the shipping.

Do you have other colors?

Yes, we have many colors. Please email us with the specific color you are interested in.

What's the warranty?

We offer 5 years warranty.

How is the TWRAPS wrap different than all the others?

There are a million companies making a wrap for the Cybertruck, we know that. What most of them have in common is that they all use the same generic cut pattern which doesn't work well. It requires stretching, doesn't wrap around some edges, is short on others. It requires disassembly of various parts (like fender flares and in some cases the mirrors) and so on.

We took a different approach. We bought the Cybertruck and spent months developing a cut pattern from scratch. We've wrapped our own Cybertruck 6 times fully (and countless times partially) just so we can test & perfect our cut pattern. Our pattern doesn't cut any corners while allowing everyone to do it successfully.

Besides the pattern, we pride ourselves with a couple of other things too - you will get outstanding support, should you need it, and you will get extremely high quality color infused PPF made with US TPU resins and German pressure sensitive glue.

I just finished a DIY PPF wrap from TWRAPS, and it was a lot easier than I expected, I love the way it turned out. Over all it took me about 8 hours (about 1 hour per panel) and I finished it over a few days. I highly recommend it if you want to PPF your Cybertruck and save $4k+ doing it yourself.

All you need is:
The PPF precut kit.
A wrap toolkit (~$30 on Amazon)
2 spray bottles with soapy water and rubbing alcohol (bought 1 electric and 1 manual)
Lots of microfiber cloths

TWRAPS has a great video to explain the process and it covered everything, but I made a few mistakes that would be easy to correct the next time I do this. These were my errors and the video clearly explains how to avoid them.

-I didnt have a very clean area to work in, so I had dust and pet hair under the PPF that I had to remove.
-Better lighting to see bubbles easier. I made the mistake of doing it at night after work.
-I got too aggressive with the rubbing alcohol and it got under the wrap in some places, creating bubbles as it evaporated. It was easy to resolve, but it added more work. Next time I might use pure water, or more diluted alcohol to rinse the edges.

A++++

I recently took delivery of my Cybertruck and immediately wanted to wrap it. I've seen in person all of the fingerprints left behind from people touching the truck and did not want to deal with cleaning it every day. For about a week I did a lot of research on what color, vinyl or PPF and where to take it for install. I narrowed down the color (Statin Black) and type (PPF) and was blown away at the prices shops are charging. My research continued on DIY. I came across a few sites and ended up going with TWRAPS. The step by step included instructions, very detailed YouTube video and last but not least, IIiya (I believe is the owner). Every question I had, he answered extremely fast and even provided additional information on what tools I should buy.

Install time. I started on Saturday morning at 9:30am and finished around 9:30pm. This was my first attempt at a wrap, so I took my time. I'm sure the estimated 8 hours is possible, but I did not want to rush. Each panel of the film is precisely cut to the shape of the truck, and labeled either "D" (Driver) or "P" (Passenger). TWRAPS provides two squeegees, but the customer is responsible for buying a spray bottle, additional squeegees, slip mixture (I used J&J Baby Shampoo) and ISP. Overall the process was not difficult at all. Just make sure each panel is clean, because small dirt particles will show. My only piece of advice is that the install should be done when the ambiant temperature is around 65. The warmer it is, the easier the film will roll around the edges. Also before rolling, I would let the truck sit in the sun. This will alllow the stainless steel to warm up and small portions of the wrap will start to bubble (trapped air/water). This is where you can squeegee out the bubbles and then roll the edges.

I'd highly recommend TWRAPS!!

DIY Wrap Looks Great!

2 other friends and I trusted TWRAPS and purchased PPF films. Overall, it took us ~9 hours for the wrap, yet we were quite happy with the outcome as first-time DIYers.
