FAQs

Why wrap?

Wrapping your vehicle provides the protection of the body that will assure that its value doesn't depreciate because of outside wear & tear. Furthermore it provides an opportunity to change the color to anything that you'd like.

What's the difference between PPF and Vinyl wrap?

PPF stands for Paint Protection Film. This is much thicker than vinyl and has additional qualities that make it last much longer. For instance, PPF can withstand most rocks hitting your Rivian, while vinyl will rip on the first small rock that hits you. Furthermore, our PPF is self-healing when exposed to heat, which means that some minor scuffs that happen through regular wear & tear will disappear on their own within days.

Does it wrap around the edges?

Yes, it does! Our wrap is designed to wrap around the edges in a way that's easy for a DIYer to handle. We made it wrap about 0.5" into the edge (as opposed to the usual 0.15") as we found out through numerous tests that this allows for easier, faster and more reliable edge wrapping.

Can I get replacement pieces if I mess up something?

Yes, our goal is to help you wrap your vehicle successfully. That means that if you mess up something, we're here to support you and send you a new piece. After each wrap is cut, there is leftover material on the roll which we will keep for 30 days after delivery. If the replacement pieces fit on it, we will cut them for free and only ask that you cover the cost of shipping.

Can I install in cold weather / winter?

Yes, as long as you are indoors you can install in the winter too. You can use a space heater in your garage, for your comfort and faster curing of the film. Additionally you'll need a heat gun (a hair dryer would work too) for the edge folding - you'd want to warm up the edges before folding them.

Can I return the wrap if I change my mind?

All of our wraps (including partial wraps) are made to order. As such they are unfortunately not returnable as we don't keep them in inventory and in most cases we can't resell them.

What's the warranty?

We offer 5 years warranty on material defects.

How is the TWRAPS wrap different than all the others?

There are many companies selling wraps, we know that. What most of them have in common is that they all use the same generic cut pattern which doesn't work well. It requires excessive stretching, doesn't wrap around some edges, is short on others, lacks proper relief cuts and requires disassembly of various parts (like mirrors, trims, lights etc) and so on.

We take a different approach. We buy the vehicles for which we make bespoke wraps and spent months developing a cut pattern from scratch. We wrap them several times fully (and countless times partially) just so we can test & perfect our cut pattern. Our pattern doesn't cut any corners while allowing everyone to do it successfully.

Besides the pattern, we pride ourselves with a couple of other things too - you will get outstanding support, should you need it, and you will get extremely high quality PPF.

Satin Meteorite Gray - - Great PPF

Iliya was extremely helpful in quickly answering all questions prior to purchasing and his excellent support continued even after the purchase. His video and booklet that came with the Wrap were excellent and very easy to follow. I’m extremely pleased with the results and am glad that I found and purchased the PPF from TWRAPS.

Lava Orange = Perfect Cyberbeast

Lets first start off by saying that Iliya truly cares about his customers. I had a quick question on a Saturday afternoon, and he took time out while driving his family home from a birthday party to reach out to me and help. I can't say how awesome it is to be able to have a personal contact with someone from the company that you are doing business with, let alone the actual owner of the company. Not too many people these days seem as down to earth as Iliya. What a great guy. I would buy again just based on his customer support.

Now to the wrap... I purchased the Lave orange because I didn't want to just have a normal color. Let me tell you, this color really pops! It sure is a looker. The PPF itself is very forgiving and will allow you to mess up multiple times on one piece before finally throwing in the towel on it. I have only had the wrap on a couple of days and it has not been in the sun much, so I can not talk much about how the sun helps to eliminate any bubbles left behind. I did have a catastrophic failure while doing the driver's side rear door. I was nearly done and the piece started to cure before I realized that one of the bottom corners were completely exposed. I panicked and tried to peel it back without using my heat gun. Whoops, I made a really big mistake. A lot of the adhesive came off of the PPF. I was able to get it completely off and reapply it, but I have huge grooves in the PPF where the adhesive came off. But, Iliya was super awesome and I already got a notification that my new piece was getting ready to ship. Such awesome customer service.

Now to my only con... and it revolves around the cantrails. After cleaning them multiple times and using isopropyl alcohol, I was still having problems with them sticking after folding them over. However, Iliya was super awesome again and gave me advice to use super glue and a heat gun. Worked like a champ as far as I can tell. The other thing I will say about the cantrails is that the upper and lower pieces that are meant to fold over, probably don't need to be as long as they are. I found it difficult in some spots to get the lower part of them to fold under. But I was able to finish the job.

Overall, the wrap is beautiful. The wrap job itself is not perfect, but I am not a professional. It is perfect for what my abilities are. But that goes back to the product at hand. Iliya and Twraps make it so easy by cutting the pieces to fit to near perfection. It makes it possible for anyone, even a normal Joe like myself to be able to wrap a car on their own and save thousands of dollars. If you are on the fence about it, all I can say is DO IT!

Amazing PPF! Look no further!

The TWRAPS DIY PPF is an amazing product for those looking to wrap their Cybertruck and save a decent chunk of change in the process. I have never installed PPF before this, so I can't compare the TWRAPS product to any other PPF product. But the TWRAPS product was very well prepared for DIY installation and looks incredible (even with a few mistakes).

Iliya (the owner) is super-responsive to emails and will answer any and all questions you have before, during, and after installation.

I have to admit that the color we chose (Milan Gold) doesn't look quite like I envisioned, even based on seeing the film after receiving it. It is very influenced by the type of light it is in. In most light, like direct sunlight or even led lighting, it looks very yellow gold/tan, and doesn't look metallic even. But in lower light, like twilight, it looks more champagne/rose gold, which is what we were hoping more for. It's not a deal breaker, as it still looks awesome in any lighting...we think. :)

I wouldn't say that installation was the easiest thing I've ever done, but with a couple key pieces of information beforehand, the installation can go smoother and produce a better result.

Here are my takeaways and key tips to anyone thinking about doing diy PPF on the Cybertruck (abbreviated a bit to fit in the review).

- Make sure to read ALL of the pages of instructions supplied with the film. Also, watch the ENTIRE installation video (twice!). I had one issue with one panel due to failing to follow this first tip. I ended up with steel showing on the bottom front corner of the driver's rear door due to not reading the instructions, and not knowing that this particular corner doesn't get edge wrapped like all the other lower door corners.
- Secondly, and potentially more importantly, DO NOT WORRY about any small bubbles that won't EASILY squeegee out to an edge. I can't stress this enough! The majority of my install defects are due to me being anal retentive and trying to remove EVERY bubble, no matter how difficult they were to move to an edge. Even after knowing that bubbles from the hood were disappearing after a couple hours, I kept trying to remove all of them. Fight that urge if you have it!! Because even the largest bubble I had completely disappeared after a few days with a decent amount of time in the sun. And more importantly, moving a bubble, if the film is quite dry underneath, will damage the film at the adhesive layer and show forever.
- To help with reducing how many small, difficult-to-move bubbles you have, make sure to use at least a 1:15 soap to water ratio in your slip solution. I stupidly started lower than that, and it definitely makes it harder to get the water and bubbles out from under the film, as the film starts to attach very quickly. I believe my installation was more difficult due to me being in Texas in August, and it probably being 95-100 degrees in the garage. The water under the film was drying/evaporating at a very rapid rate. It was difficult to work fast enough on the initial tack points and surfaces before the rest of the panel was too dry to squeegee out -- even very large bubbles. So, it required partially pulling the film back off and adding more slip solution underneath.
- Do not accidentally try to squeegee with the top surface of the film when it is dry. This can unfortunately be easy to do with the rubber squeegee as it pretty much removes all of the surface water with a single pass. So, if you are trying to do multiple passes, the film will most likely be dry where you just squeegeed. And, if you put much force and speed into it, you can catch the film with the squeegee and wrinkle it. Yes, I did this at least once and will not heal and show forever. :(
- Take your time on the edge folding and probably put it off until the next day. The main issue I had with the edge wrapping was causing wrinkles/ripples after each place where I tucked it in. I think the only way around this is try to partially wrap the edge the entire length of that panel, and then go back to fully tuck it all the way in. The panels this affects the most are the cantrails (on the window edge) and the frunk. These panels have very tight spaces. Use the sharp-edged tool provided with the film for this.
- IF you do need to peel the film back up, BE CAREFUL! It IS possible to tear the film. Ask me how I know. :(
- While installing the film is largely a one-person job, it is advised to have someone help to peel the film from the backing. It is one of the hardest parts of the whole process, surprisingly. Again, be careful not to tear the film here...no, I didn't tear it at this step. :)

I think that's about it. After the film has cured, even with all the defects I produced, our PPF really looks amazing! Just take your time (except when squeegeeing, where you need to work quickly) and you'll do just fine.

Tutorial and Support on POINT!

This was my first wrap and I decided to DIY it. Brave, right :-) The TWarp team however, made it such a great experience all round. Thanks! I recommend watching the nearly 2 hour long video demonstration. I learned a lot watching it. In my case I had playing on my iPad in the garage as I wrapped away :) Of note also is the promptness and exactness of the SMS support I got throughout the install process.

Matte Magic Flame Dark Blue, IIilya is awesome

IIilya is great - the best support I have ever received from an online purchase! I contacted him a few times in the process and he immediately responded each time. The product is amazing! It was my first time and it turned out great. My advice would be to make sure you let the edge dry before you do the edge wrap. Thanks again IIilya!

Two Wraps! Happy with both! Matte Shark Grey and Flowing Black Charming Red

I'm a tough reviewer. I couldn't be happier. I started with Matte Shark Grey and the support I received was unmatched by any other product I have ever purchased. I never wrapped a vehicle before and Iliya was basically at my beck and call. He helped me with some issues i was having and everything turned out great. 3 weeks later I was rear ended in a parking lot. I guess it's time for a new color! Iliya gave me directions on how to remove the old wrap, what tools to buy, and 2 dayS after I got my Truck back from the shop it was a new color, Flowing Black Charming Red.

Breathtaking!

I can't speak to the other brands as I haven't dealt with them, but my experience with Twraps has been nothing short of amazing. If you're looking for quality wraps under a budget, I think you can't go wrong here. The owner, Iliya, guided my every step of the way as it was my first time installing a PPF wrap. He spent countless hours trying to ensure that I was taken care of.

The color I decided to go with was Purple Phantom Blue as I wanted to play it safe seeing that he had a demo bicep of it on YT. I think the key to installing it yourself is being patient. Allow yourself plenty of time to finish and don't be afraid to take breaks when you are tired. You don't have to finish in a day because let's admit it, we are not professionals. Go slow and preferably have a person help you. Take your time, and if all else fail, get in touch with Iliya and he will help you the best way he can. You got this!

Absolutely perfect fit, amazing support

I would highly recommend this PPF kit to anyone. I have never installed vinyl or PPF before. I watched the TWraps YouTube instructional video and went right out and completed it, in 8 hours! It was a hard day, I’m old, I would split it up over two days if I ever did it again. Lliya, called me directly and texted when I had questions, he was super helpful!

Came out perfect!

Cant say enough about how great it was working with twraps. The kit was super easy to install because it was cut perfect and I didn't have to disassemble a thing. Extremely happy with the results and had a ton of purchasing support and a ton of install support from twraps. Highly recommend this kit!
